I’ve spent fifteen years sitting with people in some of the hardest moments of their lives — cancer wards, child protection proceedings, crisis points of every kind. What I learned is that being stuck isn’t a character flaw. It’s usually a completely rational response to something that’s gone out of balance — physically, emotionally, practically, or all three at once.

What most planning services miss is the body. If your sleep is broken, your iron is low, or you haven’t eaten a proper meal in days — no productivity system in the world will work. So we start there. Always.

I built Unstuck because I’ve been that person too. I know what it’s like to know exactly what needs doing and be completely unable to begin.

What finally helped surprised me. Half worried about what I was sharing, and half feeling I had nothing to lose, I poured everything going round my head into an AI chat. Getting it out of my head and onto the page cleared the fog, and seeing it laid out reminded me that what I was feeling was normal and understandable. Then I chipped off the first small task, and it started an avalanche.

When the rush of getting things done settled, I realised the thing I’d been putting off wasn’t really what was bothering me. It had been masking something deeper: something I needed to look at properly, and to take to a professional, face to face, if I needed to.

That’s what Unstuck is: an avalanche starter. It helps you see past what seems to be in front of you to what’s really there, with a person reading every word, and without sharing anything you’re not comfortable sharing.

Things people ask

I do — first, before anything is drafted. Then your intake goes into a system that drafts a plan from your answers using AI, and then I read the whole thing and edit it before it’s sent. Nothing reaches you that I haven’t been through line by line. Your answers are never used to train anyone’s AI system. There’s a fuller explanation in Where the human sits, on the sample plan page.
Judgement. A model can produce a competent, well-structured document from what you write. What it can’t do is know which of the six things you mentioned is the one to start with, or spot the sensible-sounding suggestion that would quietly make things worse for someone in your particular position. That’s fifteen years of sitting with people in difficult situations, and it’s the part you’re buying. The drafting step is simply what stops it costing several hundred dollars more.
No. This is a planning and navigation service — not clinical support. If your situation suggests you’d be better served by a therapist or a doctor, I’ll tell you that instead of sending a plan, and refund you. For many people, though, a clear plan and a sense of where to start is what makes it possible to take that next step. If you’re in crisis or at risk, please contact your GP, Samaritans on 116 123 in the UK, or 988 in the US.
Good — complicated is what this is designed for. Generic plans fall apart when life is messy. My background is in situations that don’t fit neatly into categories. The intake form gives you space to share as much as you need to.
This is one of the things Unstuck is specifically built for. The plan will never start with “clear everything out” — it starts where you actually are, with what you can actually manage. Hoarding and severe clutter are usually symptoms of something else, and the plan takes that into account.
Unstuck is run from South Dakota in the United States, and the service works anywhere. It’s entirely remote — intake form, written plan, and (where included) voice note and calls are all online. Pricing is in US dollars; Stripe may show you the amount in your own currency at checkout.
Most coaching is ongoing, expensive, and designed around motivation. This is a one-off, specific, written plan built from your situation — not sessions, not accountability calls, not cheerleading. Some people find coaching useful after this. Most find the plan itself is what they needed.
Reply within 7 days and tell me what’s off, and I’ll rework it. The intake is detailed but it isn’t a conversation, and sometimes the thing that matters most doesn’t make it onto the form. I want the plan to actually be useful — not just delivered.
